I was feeling really anxious after the first PD session- too much all at once and so much technical language that I was completely bamboozled.
With help from Tamara I got started and I wrote notes so I could refer to them if i got stuck- which step comes next? I felt much more assured after this and keenly went home and played around with some tools and added to my wiki. The group session Tamara instigated was great and more relaxed with competent teachers helping the less competent- we need to do more of thsi sharing and supporting!
My next step is to add more links to my wiki and explore some of the other tools in Resources.
Was keen to use the computers to do collaborative work but we now have the problem of the computer trolly being heaily booked!I feel a bit daunted about trying tools with the class but am prepared to give it a go- small steps!
At least I'm not losing sleep over it all now!

Showed the wiki page to the class today. Was relieved that I had asked Tamara first to check that I had set up accounts for each child properly but I hadn't. Phew!! She talked me through it step by step.All rather daunting and unexpected problems arose as we logged on and opened pages. Will have to rectify these. The pages the tudents see are different to those on my computer!!! Not sure why. Wallwisher flicked to a different page too- quite frustrating. However the kids are eager and I have suggested they practise going in to the wiki and exploring the links and activities that are there then they will develop teir own pages later. I'm hoping they will become familiar wth it and will be able to show and teach me when i am stuck.???
I find I need step by step instructions to refer back to as it is easy to forget what to do. I am quite proud of my wiki and what i have achieved so far. it's looking good and I am more confident about adding links, widgets and files.
However there is to much jargon and technical terms on some of the descriptions of resources and other websites to make it easy to understand. I feel like a slow learner but while get there with little steps.
I'm really pleased with my wiki page and now want the students to tak emore ownership of it and share thewir work on it. Iam still daunted about trying new things but with a little practical help can get on my way. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to make a movie using viedeo clips and found it was a very circuitous path trying to put them into a suitable format- Thank goodnes for Tamara!
My next step is to get the children using more of the tools espcially the voice recording tools and developing class experts.
